• he likes the texture of feathers, it’s calming and grounding
• likes collecting things so why not feathers. what a weird glowing magpie
• this way he always has a cat toy on hand 
• he’s one of those people who finds something and says ‘this is hideous, i love it’. gives zero fucks
• it was on sale (which for him probably means ‘it was free’/’i found it on the ground and patched it up’)
• makes him seem bigger than he actually is. puffs himself up like a bird when excited or angry. it is more endearing than intimidating, however.
