Anything involving my tiny son, Zev Lavellan and/or his two boyfriends Bull and Dorian tbh.
But recently I’m really into this AU I came up with thanks to @mens-frights-activist set in a Modern AU where Iron Bull (boyfriend #1) works as a Country station DJ with the Chargers. And their tag line is “Horn’s Up” and all that jazz and Zev works at Yankee Candle (that’s his job in most Modern AUs lmao) and their radio breaks and the ONLY station they get is Bull’s and Zev hates country music. But he really likes the DJs voice so ehh it’s bearable.
And then one night Zev goes to a bar and hears Bull and recognizes the voice and when Bull introduces himself Zev’s like “Oh yeah, I hate your station.” And Bull’s like wow okay rude. Zev tries to recover and be like “ah but your voice is really sexy- I mean fuCK no uhm??” and Bull just laughs and Zev tries to avoid him for the whole rest of the night. They both go home and Bull regrets not asking for Zev’s name or number but it’s too late.
Bull decides that he realllyyyy needs to meet this guy again and so he goes on his station and is like, “Hey, if the cute elven guy I met at the bar the other night is listening, you should call me up. I’m free if you want to ride the bull.” and of course Zev hears and nobody knows it’s him and he’s trying not to turn bright red at work because holy fucking shit are you kidding me??
The next like… week and a half? Two weeks? Goes on with Bull casually making shout outs to Zev and soon long time fans of the station call in and wish Bull luck and try to help him out. They call and say that it’s totally lame that this mystery elf dude wouldn’t want to go out with The Iron Bull and they all tell him they’re rooting for him and whoever this guy is should just call Bull!!
Finally Bull and Zev accidentally meet up somewhere totally normal, like the supermarket, and Zev’s expecting Bull to be all arrogance and smirks and is completely taken by surprise when Bull smiles almost nervously and apologizes, saying that he didn’t mean for it all to get carried away so much and he doesn’t want Zev to feel pressured to say yes just because there are so many ‘fans’. And he’s really sweet and kind and Zev’s like totally crushing but denies it. Bull offers to stop and Zev hesitates and just says don’t worry about it or something.
The next day at the radio station a woman calls in saying that the mystery guy is crazy for not wanting to date Bull and all this junk. And Bull’s like, yeah I think this has gone on a little too far y’all. Time to cut this guy a break. But then Zev hears that and steels himself and calls in and Bull obviously immediately recognizes his voice and Zev’s just like, You’ve gotten me. I can’t resist your dopey smile and how insufferably sweet you are. I’ll let you take me on a date. And the Chargers can be heard in the other part of the studio cheering and hollering and Bull (not that anyone can see it) has the dopiest grin.
Bonus: The first date they go on Bull takes Zev to some silly sports bar with realllyyyy good burgers and a karaoke machine. And he sings “Got My Mind Set on You” by George Harrison. Zev is flustered and embarrassed but totally smitten and they go on more dates.
Sorry this is so long. I just love my own OC more than life itself and this AU always makes me laugh to myself.
