Zev is good with dogs and like, not so good with everything else. I think most animals don’t love him, but they prefer other people (like Mahna or Ayla lmao). He likes animals a lot!! But he knows he’s not super great with them (besides pups).

Zev loves children lmao. Children love him back. It’s amazing. Zev wouldn’t mind adopting kids, but he’s not really sure about it just yet. He’d be a really patient parent, and very very open and accepting of his kid. Maybe a bit too lenient sometimes out of fear of pushing them away or upsetting them, but that’s what Bull and Dorian are there for lmao. He is THE BEST godparent/babysitter. He’s literally amazing with kids and he loves having lil babs crawl all over him.

Omg I don’t think Zev tends to snore but he steals the blankets and makes little sounds in his sleep and definitely drools more than he’s willing to admit. He loves sleeping on Bull comfy beds and piles of pillows and blankets. He nests like woah and has a million collected blankets and pillows. Definitely prefers a soft mattress that he can just sink into.
29. What do they do when they find out someone else’s fear? Do they tease them? Or get very over protective?
Depends on the severity. If it’s a huge fear, like super intense and phobia-levels then he gets protective and silently watches out for them. If it’s something small he’s still protective but he’ll definitely tease in a loving way. He uses a lot of humor to cope so yeah.
49. What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them?
Zev has a necklace from his parents that he wears almost constantly, and he has little figurines Ayla and Mahanon carved for him when they were all children. He’s super super sentimental, and secretly a big crybaby over that sort of stuff. He has a little like, lunchbox? with padding in it with bunch of sentimental stuff like photos and those figurines and little reminders of places he’s been. The necklace he takes everywhere, along with the necklace of kadan obvi.
Ahaha, he hates the Chantry. In theory, whatever fine humans can believe whatever they want. And there probably ARE a bunch of gods and goddesses? But humans are so pushy about it and they’ve killed so many because of it. He’s really bitter about the Chantry but he tries to be polite about his Inner Circle’s beliefs as long as they’re not rude about his.

Probably despair demons. He’s afraid of falling into despair and the idea of one of them getting their claws on him makes him shiver. All other demons he can sort of handle more, but despair demons really freak him out.
17. how do they feel about the mark/the anchor?
It worries him a lot. He’ll never admit that (except to maybe Bull in the dead of night when Dorian’s asleep) and he makes so many jokes about it. But it scares him, and it hurts. And when it starts to hurt more during Trespasser it gets a little harder for him to keep himself pulled together. He never wanted to catch the stupid orb and he doesn’t want to die this way. He doesn’t want the power of it and while he uses it to close rifts and help and understands that it’s useful in a way, he’s still scared and doesn’t like it.
20. what was their court approval like at the winter palace? did they have any fun at all?
Hahaha. Playing I got him to 100% bc I needed to for my decision. But I imagine if he were actually there it’d be like… 50 or 60. Because he’d be cranky and snippy. And half the time people would think he was playing cleverly and being coy or w/e, but the other half ppl would know he’s being sarcastic and cranky. The only fun he had was dancing with Bull and Dorian afterwards and sneaking off to gossip with Sera a handful of times. He enjoyed fighting Florianne and kicking her ass.
24. what is their opinion on blood magic? would they ever use it, if given the chance?
He’s not a mage, so he doesn’t know much about magic. But he’s definitely afraid of blood magic, and he regards it with suspicion. Ayla and Mahanon are both mages, and he’s grown up close to them, so he’s not afraid of most magic. But blood magic freaks him out because he always thinks of Tevinter and demons. He just doesn’t understand why you’d want to use it, why you’d want to tempt demons.

Haha no. He tries to be polite but he makes tons of inappropriate jokes and argues with her about mages. But he doesn’t hate her. He thinks she’s tough and intimidating.
Ayla and Mahanon and Zev as pop stars would probably be something like fucking Jem and the Holograms they’d be so dopey and dumb.
The chef thing I cannot even I’m gonna laugh myself to death. Zev can actually cook pretty well, he’s just SUPER lazy in Modern AU so he shovels garbage into his body. I feel like he’d be really good at making a variety of dinner plates and he just has tons of fun trying out new shit. Mahanon would probably be great at like gourmet mac and cheese and all this amazing desserts that’ll make you cry. What would Ayla be? I imagine whatever she does she’s like Gordon Ramsay.

Inquisitor:

(2) “You’re hardly one to talk, sewing isn’t one of your skills, is it?” (laughs) “I’m afraid not, but I make up for it elsewhere.”
(3) “I’ve bigger things to deal with than fashion right now.” “Ah yes, trying to appease the shems, now there’s an age-old challenge.”
(4) “Is that your way of trying to seduce me after vanishing for two months without a letter?” (grins and laughs) “Is it working? And we’ve been over this, ma elgara, I’d have left you a letter if I knew how to write. Let me start making it up to you right now.” (kisses them)
7. What would be on their tombstone in the fade (what is their greatest fear)?
“Ma banal las halamshir var vhen” Zev’s greatest fear is becoming an outcast. He has been made to feel guilty about not helping “repopulate the dales” and strives to help ‘his’ people as best he can despite it. He fears that it doesn’t matter what he does or how hard he tries, not producing children will always label him a failure.
8. What kind of Inquisitor would drive them to leave the Inquisition/confront them about their actions (what gets their approval low? what does that scene look like)?
Inquisitors who are aggressive and prioritize power and alliances over common people, family, relationships and helping out. Zev is similar to Sera in that he cares about “the little people”. Inquisitors who side with Templars, support Gaspard, ignore the Path of the Supplicant, kill the Chargers, and the like all gain major disapproval from Zev.
If you gain enough that Zev leaves a cutscene will occur where the Inquisitor is walking back into Skyhold through the main gate, and a dagger will land, blade in the ground, by their feet. Zev will be up on his spot amongst the scaffolding by the entrance and the Inquisitor will respond to the “attack”. Aggressive option has the Inquisitor threatening to have Zev branded an enemy for the gesture, Diplomatic option will ask what he intended to get out of that, and Sarcastic option will comment on Zev’s aim. Zev will angrily snap that the Inquisitor is like every other leader in Fereldan and Orlais, hungry for power and not caring who they hurt or step on. The Inquisitor replies again, either telling Zev off and again threatening to have him locked away, or telling him that he’s generalizing too much. Either way Zev will say that joining the Inquisition was just another mistake and disappear from the scaffolding and reappear behind the Inquisitor. Zev will comment that the Inquisitor should watch their back before disappearing again. (spooky assassin skills woooo~~)
9. Where in Skyhold would they be found? (e.g. Cole is in the tavern rafters, Leliana in the top of the tower, Varric in the throne room, etc.)
On one of the wooden scaffoldings by the entrance to Skyhold. He likes to watch new arrivals, recruits, and refuges enter. When the Inquisitor goes to talk to him there will be new special dialogue options after certain events where Zev will comment on people he’s seen joining the Inquisition/coming to Skyhold.
17. Where do they hang out in the Winter Palace? What’s their thoughts on the nobles/The Game?
They hang out by the stairs to the Servant’s Quarters. He hates the nobles and The Game, and complains about them both bitterly. He thinks The Game is something only nobles with too much wealth and too high an opinion of themselves would come up with. Zev hates Orlesians and nobles, and by extension hates Orlesian nobles twice as much.

They’re drinking by Sera, sitting cross legged on the table. They debate leaving to explore more but depending on approval rating they can be convinced to stay (romance also factors in but that’s more messy. If the Inquisitor romances Zev he will stay). To convince him to stay the Inquisitor can mention that they’ll miss Zev and consider him a close friend.
8. Preferred class overall? I’m a sucker for rogues! Mage is a close second, but I like being right in the action!
25. Favorite DA:I place? My top three are Crestwood, The Western Approach, and the Emerald Graves. But I suppose if I have to pick one it’d be Crestwood, because that’s where I killed my first dragon

37. Bloodmagic: yes or no? No! (*winks and mouths yes*) But seriously like, no I don’t think it’s a good idea but I think it shouldn’t be demonized (ha!) as much because I think it only encourages people to see it as this great power you can use against others. Like, let people study it carefully.
40. A moment/action you regret in-game? Looting the Dalish graves and getting yelled at by the Keeper. Zev Lavellan was uh, very regretful that day.
