Ahaha, he hates the Chantry. In theory, whatever fine humans can believe whatever they want. And there probably ARE a bunch of gods and goddesses? But humans are so pushy about it and they’ve killed so many because of it. He’s really bitter about the Chantry but he tries to be polite about his Inner Circle’s beliefs as long as they’re not rude about his.
14. which demon is most frightening to them?
Probably despair demons. He’s afraid of falling into despair and the idea of one of them getting their claws on him makes him shiver. All other demons he can sort of handle more, but despair demons really freak him out.
17. how do they feel about the mark/the anchor?
It worries him a lot. He’ll never admit that (except to maybe Bull in the dead of night when Dorian’s asleep) and he makes so many jokes about it. But it scares him, and it hurts. And when it starts to hurt more during Trespasser it gets a little harder for him to keep himself pulled together. He never wanted to catch the stupid orb and he doesn’t want to die this way. He doesn’t want the power of it and while he uses it to close rifts and help and understands that it’s useful in a way, he’s still scared and doesn’t like it.
20. what was their court approval like at the winter palace? did they have any fun at all?
Hahaha. Playing I got him to 100% bc I needed to for my decision. But I imagine if he were actually there it’d be like… 50 or 60. Because he’d be cranky and snippy. And half the time people would think he was playing cleverly and being coy or w/e, but the other half ppl would know he’s being sarcastic and cranky. The only fun he had was dancing with Bull and Dorian afterwards and sneaking off to gossip with Sera a handful of times. He enjoyed fighting Florianne and kicking her ass.
24. what is their opinion on blood magic? would they ever use it, if given the chance?
He’s not a mage, so he doesn’t know much about magic. But he’s definitely afraid of blood magic, and he regards it with suspicion. Ayla and Mahanon are both mages, and he’s grown up close to them, so he’s not afraid of most magic. But blood magic freaks him out because he always thinks of Tevinter and demons. He just doesn’t understand why you’d want to use it, why you’d want to tempt demons.

Haha no. He tries to be polite but he makes tons of inappropriate jokes and argues with her about mages. But he doesn’t hate her. He thinks she’s tough and intimidating.
3. What’s one skill your character really wishes they had?
Zev wishes he could read lmao. I mean, he DOES learn over the course of Inquisition but they get to the Well of Sorrows and the only thing he can sort of read is Common. So he feels guilty and stupid for the first time.
4. What is their favourite food? Their daily diet?
He really likes meat buns! Their daily diet is whatever the clan makes and I’m too lazy to detail that. But a lot of jerky and fruits. He really likes stealing bread rolls at skyhold.
5. Do they like music? If so, what kind of music do they enjoy?
He likes a lot of stuff except for Country. He HATES country. He really likes Alternative music and punk music. Halsey, Elle King, Lorde, and Laura Jane Grace are like the first ppl who come to mind.
21. How does your character decide if a person is mature or not?
I don’t really understand this question? But I guess since he’s super immature it would be if they agree with his humor and junk and are even more of a mess than him he considers them immature.
37. How advanced is the technology in your character’s world? Do they have mobile phones and high-tech computers yet or have they far surpassed that?
Nah, Dragon Age is like…. medieval? IDk. no Tech.
38. Have they ever had to hurt someone else, physically or mentally, to save themselves or another person? Were they the same after the incident, or did it change them?
Hell yeah. They do it on a pretty regular basis. I think Zev tends to compartmentalize and doesn’t let himself think of their enemies as people. He makes jokes about it and deflects to keep from thinking about it too much. He always rationalizes and puts his siblings and friends and lovers first so it makes it easier bc he would whole-heartedly kill anyone who threatened them.
44. Do they believe in elves, or even know any?
uHM? He is one.
52. Do they have any pets/familiars/animals or really anything that follows them around?
Mahanon. Haha nah I always like to imagine that at some point he rescues a little fennec fox and it’s too cute bc they have the same ears.
63. What do they do for a living? Do they enjoy it, or are they just doing it because they have to?
Uh in canon he’s a hunter for Clan Lavellan, and he enjoys it but he’s mainly doing it because he has to. When he joins the Inquisition he’s either Inquisitor or (in our AU) he’s there as a member and he DOES enjoy being a companion/member. Is only Inquisitor because he has to do it (though he grows to enjoy it in a weird way, enjoy is maybe too strong a word).
In Modern!AU he has a ton of different jobs since he’s kicked out of his “clan” and dropped out of school. But his main two places of employment are Yankee Candle and a Gymnastics place, teaching kids. He loves both of those two jobs, the others are just kind of necessary to stay on top of bills.
64. What are your character’s thoughts on liquor? Ever had anything strong?
Whoops. In canon he’s a big fan of liquor and he’ll try anything and everything. Even like that scary mud-looking dwarven stuff. Bull gave him maraas-lok once and he still goes back to the stuff every once and a while when he’s feeling ballsy. That stuff made him literally collapse to the floor and his stomach and throat burn for like three days after. He and Bull spend a lot of time in the Tavern lol
89. Does your character like the ocean, or are they more of a land person? Perhaps they prefer specific bodies of water, like ponds and rivers, or specific locations on the land, like forests and mountains?
Land person definitely. He probably gets seasick. He loves forests because he grew up in them but he’s really interested in places with hotter climates and he’s so deathly curious about Tevinter and Par Vollen, though he knows he can’t really go to either. He likes being warm though.
Ayla and Mahanon and Zev as pop stars would probably be something like fucking Jem and the Holograms they’d be so dopey and dumb.
The chef thing I cannot even I’m gonna laugh myself to death. Zev can actually cook pretty well, he’s just SUPER lazy in Modern AU so he shovels garbage into his body. I feel like he’d be really good at making a variety of dinner plates and he just has tons of fun trying out new shit. Mahanon would probably be great at like gourmet mac and cheese and all this amazing desserts that’ll make you cry. What would Ayla be? I imagine whatever she does she’s like Gordon Ramsay.
MCDONALD EMPLOYEES. Zev gets fired and re-hired about 20 times. He’s the kid who just makes monster sandwiches when it’s dead and puts his head under the soft serve machine. I feel like Ayla always has fries that she’s snuck out like 24/7
Hollywood superstars, like movie stars? I gotta think about that one more. But I really like famous trio. Zev does all sorts of dumb bullshit and all this eccentric junk. Mahanon’s the person who hates doing interviews and likes acting but is super nervous and junk and their fanbase is rly sweet and supportive of them? Ayla is the biggest diva but not rly she just does it for kicks? And she likes taking down reporters who ask dumb sexist questions!
